Believe in yourself

I think that one of the hardest things for any one (not just a writer) is getting out of your own way. Of course, it's easier said than done. In my experience, the biggest challenge that we all face towards becoming who we want to be is that person staring back at you in the mirror. Most people have things that they want and need. Most people have dreams. It's easy to get lost in the day-to-day struggles of just trying to keep a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs and our stomachs fed that we forget to strive for our dreams. What's worse is when a person tells themselves that they can't do this or that because (choose your poison): you're too old, you don't have enough time, you don't have enough money, you don't know where to beginning. That's just a few off the top of my head. Honestly, there are more items to this list than there are waves in the ocean.

My friends, life is a struggle. You know it. I know it. There will be ups and there will be some serious fucking downs. But at the end of the day, when you have dreams that you want to see fulfilled, you only have yourself that you can count on. We are social creatures by habit and while it is nice to have a support structure (i.e., family, friends or groups) that we can draw strength from, at the end of the day it is all on you.

Look at it this way: If you don't believe in yourself, who will?

Blessings and Love!
